Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.

WHAT KINDS OF THINGS DO YOU DO?
We design, install and remodel kitchens and baths, and can also help you with laundries, mudrooms, libraries, media rooms, custom built-ins and home offices - anywhere you need us. We also expertly guide you through the process, help with material and color selections, hold your hand through all your decisions and simply make sure your finished project is outstanding in every way. If you can dream it, we can do it.
WHERE DO YOUR MATERIALS COME FROM?
All of our beautiful cabinetry is made in North America, most made in the USA except for one company in Canada - we DO NOT USE any Chinese-made cabinetry whatsoever! Some quartz countertop material is made in Asia and natural stone can come from many countries all over the world.
If you have a specific request to not source materials from particular countries we can find suitable alternatives. We can also source green materials and accommodate other special requests.
HOW DO WE GET THE PROCESS STARTED?
The best way is to contact us via email or use our online contact form so we can set up a time to meet. If we miss your call, feel free to leave us a voicemail, which we check frequently.
By the way, we are available by appointment any time – including nights or weekends – at your convenience. We’re a little hard to locate on Main St. so if you’re coming to our office, ask us for directions and landmarks. We’re worth finding!
WHAT HAPPENS AT OUR FIRST MEETING?
We have a good long chat about your project! With remodels, we like our first meeting to be at your home if possible, because it allows us to walk in with fresh eyes and no preconceived ideas – we need to see the patient before we can make a diagnosis. If it’s new construction we will meet at our office to take a look at your plans.
We’ll talk for an hour or so to ascertain what your goals are, get to know each other and see if we’ll work well together.
This first consultation is always free.
WE'D LIKE TO WORK WITH YOU. NOW WHAT?
We require a design retainer, which is based on project size and scope. But the great news is, if you sign up to do the complete project, the retainer fee is credited to your first invoice.
After the retainer is paid we schedule to come out to do a full measure and do an in-depth interview which includes determining your scope of work and budget, appliance and plumbing requirements and all aspects of the design, and start working on what you want to see for style, materials and colors.
ONCE YOU'VE MEASURED, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET BACK TO ME?
Give us 7-10 business days to draft up a preliminary design, after which we will meet to discuss and refine the design until it meets your every requirement. Once the plan is exactly what you want, we work on determining style, materials and colors and we’ll start sourcing these items for you.
The next step after finalizing all the materials is putting pricing together if you select the Design Plus or the Design+Build option. There are lot of selections to make so this process can take from a few weeks to a month plus, depending on how decisive you are.
DO WE SIGN A CONTRACT?
You will always get an itemized estimate first that will show you every specific aspect of your project line by line (both materials and labor) and once everything is agreed upon and finalized, we absolutely use contracts with every detail spelled out so everything is clear to everyone. Contracts protect all parties and eliminate misunderstandings.
THE TRUTH — HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
This is a little hard to nail down because every project is different. A simple kitchen replacement with minimal remodeling can take 3-4 weeks (after receipt of all materials).
A project that requires extensive carpentry, window movement/replacement, wall removal and all the associated subcontractor work can take several months. This is something we discuss as we go through the process — you will be given an idea of what to expect.
If you have a particular timeframe or deadline for completion, it’s best to start the planning process several months in advance.
